Kishi started with one question:
Imitation jewellery is beautiful. But why does it turn green in two weeks?
Turns out, it doesn’t have to.
The Problem We Saw
Every working woman knows this cycle: you find a pair of earrings you love. You wear them every day for two weeks. Then the gold fades. Or your ears itch. Or the dreaded green stain shows up — usually right before an important meeting.
“Imitation jewellery” had become code for “disposable jewellery.”
We thought that was unfair. Why should affordable mean temporary?
What We Did
We went straight to the source — Mumbai’s best jewellery markets (Bhuleshwar, Zaveri Bazaar) — and started asking uncomfortable questions.
Metal quality. Plating micron. Base material. Anti-tarnish treatment.
What we learned: the difference between jewellery that lasts and jewellery that doesn’t is often ₹20-30 per piece at the manufacturing level. Most brands skip it to save margins. We chose not to.
What Makes Kishi Different
Every Kishi piece is made with:
- 316L stainless steel or premium brass — not cheap alloys
- Minimum 1-2 micron plating — industry standard for imitation jewellery is often 0.5 micron or less
- Anti-tarnish treatment — not just a marketing claim. We test every batch. We post the proof on Instagram.
- Skin-safe materials — nickel-free, lead-free, no mysterious green marks
The result? Jewellery that looks demi-fine, feels premium, and costs ₹599-1,199 — not ₹5,000.
The Name
Kishi — made to be worn, not saved for “special occasions.” Your everyday armour. Your meeting-to-date-night staple. Jewellery that keeps up with your life.
Our Promise
If your Kishi piece shows signs of tarnish within 30 days of normal use? We replace it. No arguments. No asterisks.
We built this brand for women who want to wear their jewellery, not babysit it.
